A match kicks off at 20:00 in one country, but what time is that where you are? Enter the kickoff date and time in the stadium's (or broadcaster's) time zone, and the converter shows the local time on your device plus major cities around the world.

Quick answer

Convert the kickoff to UTC using the host city's offset, then add each viewer's offset. A 20:00 kickoff in Riyadh (UTC+3) on 11 June 2026 is 17:00 UTC, which is 18:00 in London, 13:00 in New York and 10:00 in Los Angeles.

Enter your numbers and press Calculate.

Results are rounded and depend on the values you enter. Double-check anything important.

How to use the Match Kickoff Time converter

  1. Enter the kickoff date and time exactly as published (24-hour clock).
  2. Choose the time zone that time is given in, for example the host city.
  3. Press Calculate to see the kickoff time on your device and in 16 major cities.

The formula

UTC kickoff = local kickoff − offset of the source zone Your kickoff = UTC kickoff + your offset (offsets include daylight saving on the match date)

Offsets come from the time zone database built into your browser, so summer time in Europe and North America is handled automatically for the chosen date.

Worked example

Kickoff 20:00 on 11 June 2026 in Riyadh. Riyadh is UTC+3, so the match starts at 17:00 UTC. London is on summer time (UTC+1): 18:00. New York (UTC−4): 13:00. Los Angeles (UTC−7): 10:00. Tokyo (UTC+9): 02:00 the next day.

Why match times are so easy to get wrong

Football fixtures are published in the local time of the stadium or the organiser, and fans watch from everywhere. Three things change the answer: the time zone of the published kickoff, your own time zone, and whether either place is on daylight saving time (summer time) on that date. Saudi Arabia is simple: Riyadh is UTC+3 all year and does not change its clocks. Europe and North America do change, and on different weekends, which is why a match can be two hours ahead of Riyadh one week and three the next.

Clock changes in autumn 2026

These dates come from the IANA time zone database used by browsers and match the official announcements:

  • United Kingdom: clocks go back one hour on Sunday 25 October 2026 at 02:00 BST, from UTC+1 to UTC+0 (GMT). The UK government lists the dates on GOV.UK.
  • European Union (Paris, Madrid, Berlin, Rome): also on 25 October 2026, from UTC+2 to UTC+1.
  • United States and Canada (most areas): clocks go back on Sunday 1 November 2026. New York moves from UTC−4 to UTC−5. NIST publishes the US rule (first Sunday in November).
  • Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar: no change.

For one week, between 25 October and 1 November, Europe is already on winter time while the US is still on summer time. Gaps between London and New York shrink from five hours to four during that week, which catches out many fans following both leagues.

Worked examples for fans in Saudi Arabia

A Saturday 15:00 Premier League kickoff

Before the change (BST, UTC+1): 15:00 in London is 14:00 UTC, which is 17:00 in Riyadh. After 25 October (GMT, UTC+0): 15:00 in London is 15:00 UTC, which is 18:00 in Riyadh. The kickoff time on the poster has not moved, but it is one hour later for you.

A 21:00 LaLiga or Champions League night game

In summer time, 21:00 in Madrid (UTC+2) is 19:00 UTC, or 22:00 in Riyadh. From 25 October, 21:00 in Madrid (UTC+1) is 20:00 UTC, or 23:00 in Riyadh.

A Saudi Pro League match watched abroad

A 21:00 kickoff in Riyadh is always 18:00 UTC. A fan in London watches it at 19:00 in summer and 18:00 in winter. A fan in New York watches it at 14:00 until 1 November and 13:00 afterwards.

An evening game in the United States

A 19:30 kickoff in New York on Saturday 31 October 2026 (UTC−4) is 23:30 UTC, which is 02:30 on Sunday in Riyadh. The same kickoff a week later, on 7 November (UTC−5), is 00:30 UTC, or 03:30 Sunday in Riyadh.

Tips

  • Always enter the time in the zone where it was published. If a broadcaster already lists Saudi time, choose Riyadh.
  • For a fixture after the clock change, enter the actual match date. The converter looks up the offset for that day, not today's.
  • Late kickoffs in the Americas often fall on the next calendar day in Asia. The converter shows the date next to each city so you can see it at a glance.
  • Kickoff times can be moved for television. Check the official club or league page on match day.

Main football time zones at a glance

  • Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq: UTC+3 all year.
  • UAE, Oman: UTC+4 all year, one hour ahead of Riyadh.
  • Egypt: UTC+2, with summer time (UTC+3) in recent years; check the date.
  • England, Scotland, Portugal: UTC+0 in winter, UTC+1 in summer.
  • Spain, France, Germany, Italy: UTC+1 in winter, UTC+2 in summer.
  • New York, Miami, Toronto: UTC−5 in winter, UTC−4 in summer.

Because these rules change from time to time, the converter does not use a fixed table: it asks your browser for the offset on the exact date of the match.

Sharing a fixture with friends

When you post a kickoff time in a group chat with fans in different countries, give the time in UTC or name the city whose time you are quoting, for example "18:00 Riyadh time". A bare "6pm" is read differently by everyone, and during the clock-change weeks even people in the same league can be an hour apart.

FAQ

Does it handle daylight saving time?

Yes. The browser applies the correct offset for the exact date you enter.

Which time zone should I choose?

Use the zone in which the time is published: the host city for local fixtures, or your broadcaster's zone if it lists times that way.

Why does the date change for some cities?

Late kickoffs in Europe or the Americas fall after midnight in Asia and Australia, so the date moves to the next day.

When do the clocks change in the UK and US in autumn 2026?

The UK and EU go back one hour on Sunday 25 October 2026. Most of the United States and Canada go back on Sunday 1 November 2026. Saudi Arabia does not change.

What time is a 15:00 UK kickoff in Saudi Arabia?

17:00 in Riyadh while the UK is on summer time (BST) and 18:00 once the UK returns to GMT.
